Nice is a French city on the Côte d'Azur and is located in south-east France. The city is primarily known as a holiday destination for rich, famous stars. We'll show you how you can have an unforgettable stag party here without spending a lot of money.

Culture in Nice: museums and the old town

Nice generally has a lot of culture to offer, including numerous museums and monasteries. Particularly recommended are the Musée Matisse art museum, the Musée National Marc Chagall art gallery and the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain, a museum of modern art.

Nice's old town is also beautiful to look at. The historic centre with its colourful houses and red roofs has a lot to offer. Here, for example, you will find the Opéra de Nice, the Palais Lascaris and several restaurants and ice cream parlours. The homemade ice cream from the Fenocchio ice cream parlour is considered the best ice cream in the city.

The Marchße aux Fleur

The Marché aux Fleurs is located between the old town and the beach. This is a market where you can taste and buy not only flowers, but also all kinds of regional specialities. These include socca in particular. This is a flatbread made from chickpeas.

Other culinary specialities of the city include Pissaladière - a savoury cake topped with anchovies, olives and onions - and Salade Niçoise - a salad with colourful vegetables such as olives, green beans, peppers and artichokes, as well as tuna, anchovies and a garlic sauce.

The beautiful Promenade des Anglais

If you want to treat yourself to a break, you can quench your hunger or thirst in one of the bars or restaurants along the 5-kilometre-long beach promenade, Promenade des Anglais. Another way to explore the city and the surrounding area is to hire a Vélo Bleu bike and ride around.

Fancy an adventure? Then you should definitely go hiking in the Parc Forestier du Mont Boron. It has 11 kilometres of hiking trails for you to explore. Here you should definitely visit the Fort du Mont Alban. From this military fortress, you have a stunning view over Nice and the Côte d'Azur.
