The historic city of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is located right on the Danube on the border with Austria and Hungary, at the so-called border triangle. With around 440,000 inhabitants, it is by far the largest city in Slovakia and therefore also offers countless sights.

The City of Kings

As a popular coronation city, it tells the story of many kings who have reigned in this city and left their own unique influences. Discover here how history and modernity transform the city into a unique setting!

The most important sight is Bratislava Castle, which is situated high up on an 85-metre-high hill and is today considered the city's landmark. The hill itself was repeatedly settled by different groups of people over the course of time and the first stone castle was also built here as early as the 10th century. Today's castle served as a fortress for a long time, but was turned into a museum at the end of the 20th century. Whether by day or by night - it is definitely worth a visit!

A city filled with history

Fancy some more history? Then discover Bratislava's impressive old town. Thanks to the various cultural influences, visitors can now see beautiful historical buildings that will take you back in time. Especially the Jesuit Church and the Franciscan Church are not to be missed during your visit. But the 52-metre-high Slavín war memorial and the Michael Gate with its onion roof are also exciting sights for your trip.
