Palma is the capital of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca. The city is best known for its many cultural attractions and the old town. It is the complete opposite of the not far away El Arenal, or for many known as "The Ballermann". Here we show you all the sights in Palma that will make your stag party unforgettable.

The Gothic-style La Seu Cathedral is Palma's most famous landmark. You should definitely admire La Seu during your visit, because it is beautiful to look at from the outside as well as from the inside. There are 31 other churches in Palma's old town alone, all of which you can visit. 

The cultural side: the Royal Palace

Also worth seeing is the royal palace La Almudaina. It is only a few steps away from the cathedral and used to serve as a palace for the kings. Nowadays, it is only used by the kings for summer celebrations. If you want, you can also visit the inside of the building.

In the centre of the city is the Plaza Major. This market square is surrounded by many small cafés and restaurants as well as residential buildings with pretty facades. In summer, you can also listen to street artists playing music here.

The market hall: Mercat de l'Olivar

Not far from the Plaza Major is the large market hall Mercat de l'Olivar. Here you can find everything your heart desires - from fruit and vegetables to high-quality meat and fish. You can also buy spices, wines and liqueurs here.

If you want to enjoy some culture, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is the place to go. Es Baluard was built by former King Juan Carlos and contains works of art by Picasso and Miró, among others.

You want to enjoy Mallorcan cuisine after a busy day? Typical Mallorcan specialities include tumbet - various vegetables such as potatoes, aubergines and peppers are baked with spices and olive oil in a clay dish. Coca Mallorquina is also recommended. These are Spanish pizzas topped with peppers, tomatoes and onions.
