Salzburg is one of the most famous cities in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city, which was once the birthplace of Mozart, hosts the annual Salzburg Festival and "Everyman". Which sights should definitely be part of your stag party?

Salzburg Fortress and Old Town

Hohensalzburg Fortress has characterised the cityscape since the 10th century and is enthroned on the Festungsberg in the middle of the old town. With an area of 7,000 m², it is also the largest fortress in Europe and offers visitors an insight into medieval Salzburg. As you stroll through the old rooms, you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the enchanting old town of Salzburg.

For many, it is Austria's main attraction par excellence: Salzburg's old town is a cultural experience in winter and summer. In the baroque and medieval streets, you will find restaurants and cafés serving local specialities such as the Austrian "Verlängerter". The Salzburg Christmas Market is also a festive experience every year and you can enjoy the best restaurants in the Getreidegasse.

Hellbrunn Palace and Mirabell Palace

Hellbrunn Palace is located in the south of Salzburg, surrounded by a picturesque palace park. Like Mirabell Palace, the pleasure palace was built in the 17th century and impresses visitors with its yellow, symmetrical façade. Not to be missed: The Renaissance trick fountains take you into hidden grottos and are among the most beautiful in the world.

Mirabell Palace was built in 1606 and is now the seat of Salzburg's city administration. The State Hall is also known as the Marble Hall due to its extensive marble furnishings and is available for concerts or weddings. Furthermore, the neighbouring gardens are truly an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city and offer you a view of Salzburg Cathedral.

Salzburg Cathedral is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and is located on Residenzplatz. The cathedral can be traced back to a sacred building from the 8th century and has been remodelled several times over the centuries.

Mozart's birthplace is probably the most visited museum in the world. Recognisable by its dark yellow façade, it stands out from the baroque city centre. Inside, you can find out how the composer spent his childhood and became a musical wonder.
