Looking for the perfect place for your stag party? Then Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, is the right destination. Beautiful nature, diverse sights and various attractions - it is not only the capital of Lithuania, but also the centre of culture, art and, of course, fun!

A part of history: Cathedral Square

Experience history up close on Cathedral Square in Vilnius' Old Town. It is the oldest and most famous square in Lithuania and is home to the Gediminas Monument and St Stanislaus Cathedral. The monument symbolises the achievements of the city's founder and Duke Gediminas. He founded the capital in 1320.

St Stanislaus Cathedral impresses with its size and impressive architecture. Three statues on the neoclassical cathedral overlook the large square: St Casimir on the left, St Helen in the centre with a golden cross and St Stanislaus on the right.

The Lithuanian National Museum

If you want to find out more about the history of Vilnius, you should visit the Lithuanian National Museum - Lietuvos nacionalinis muziejus - not to be missed. It contains the largest collection of important and historical artefacts. The museum was founded in 1855 and exhibits artefacts from the fields of contemporary history, folklore, iconography and archaeology.

Right in front of the National Museum stands an important monument - the Mindaugas Monument. Mindaugas was the first Grand Duke of Lithuania and the only one to be crowned king in Lithuania. The day of his coronation is still an official holiday in Lithuania today. The statue of King Mindaugas is almost three and a half metres high, making it particularly imposing.

Important stopover: the university

Another place of interest is Vilnius University. It is the largest educational institution in Lithuania and one of the oldest universities in Central Europe. Both then and now, the university has contributed to the cultural progress of the country and Europe. Famous writers, poets, doctors and historians have studied here.

See Vilnius from above - Vilnius is one of the few cities that you can explore in a hot air balloon. A hot air balloon tour over the old town is an attraction you should definitely take part in. From above, you have a breathtaking view of the beautiful and wonderful city.
