Info about Hamburg
Hamburg. History, culture and entertainment await you here in one of Germany's largest trading cities. Which sights are a must for your stag party?
Brick buildings and bridges lead you through the largest connected warehouse complex in the world: Speicherstadt dates back to the 19th century. The goods of the port were once stored and traded on an area of 26 hectares. While strolling around, you can not only admire the buildings, but also visit one of the numerous museums and the coffee roastery.
Reeperbahn and Sternschanze
It is often known as the "most sinful mile in the world": the Reeperbahn. Sex, fun and entertainment await you on the street that no hen or stag dos hould be without. How about a visit to one of the theatres? Well-known musicals such as "Cats" or "Mamma Mia" are on the programme here.
If you're in the mood for restaurants and culinary delights after a trip to the Reeperbahn, Sternschanze and the Karolinenviertel are the place to be. This is where Hamburg's young residents meet and enjoy the boutiques and retro shops.
Sankt Michaelis and Hamburg City Hall
The Hauptkirche Sankt Michaelis is the most famous church in Hamburg and is the landmark of the Hanseatic city. It dates back to the 17th century and is now 132 m high. After the building was destroyed by fire in 1906, the church was rebuilt six years later with the help of a steel construction.
Hamburg's town hall dates from the 19th century and is an imposing neo-Renaissance building. In the centre of the building rises a 112 m high tower that can be seen from afar, while hidden inside is a staircase decorated with marble and gold.
Jungfernstieg
The Jungfernstieg is where the inhabitants of Hamburg meet to shop, stroll and relax. The promenade is located on the Binnenalster in the foreground of the old town. The Alsterhaus is in no way inferior to the KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) in Berlin, but those who want to shop more cheaply will get their money's worth in Mönckebergstraße.
